Help to Climb.
Concessional entry for individuals who face financial or economic barriers to climbing.
Two discount tiers, one short application, no bank statements — just a straightforward, self-declared form and a friendly process.
Removing barriers to entry.
Help to Climb is run by Yonder CIC, our not-for-profit sister company. It exists to support individuals who face financial or economic barriers to accessing climbing — whether that's someone on a low income, in receipt of benefits, or simply stretched by life.
We keep the application process as short and simple as possible. Rather than asking for paperwork or bank statements, we trust people to self-declare their circumstances. Fill in the form, answer the questions honestly, and we'll be in touch within a week of receiving it.
-
If you're receiving Universal Credit or another income-based benefit
If you're a refugee, asylum seeker, or have no recourse to public funds
If you're on a low household income or supporting a family
If you've been referred by a community group, charity or youth service
You live locally and financial circumstances are the main barrier to climbing

Do I need to prove my income?
No. We don't ask for bank statements, payslips, or any paperwork. The form uses simple tick-boxes and self-declaration — we trust you to tell us your situation honestly.
Can I just come for one climb?
Yes. If you don't want to commit to a membership email us instead of filling in the full application. We'll arrange a concessional single entry without the paperwork.
How long does the concession last?
Memberships renew every six months. Before each renewal we'll do a quick, friendly check-in there's no cap on how long you can stay on the scheme.
I've never climbed before — is that okay?
Absolutely. Your free induction covers everything you need to know, and our team is there to help you find your feet.
Can I apply on behalf of someone else?
Yes. If you run a community group, school or charity and want to refer people to the scheme, please use our partner referral form instead of the individual application.
Please note
Meeting the criteria does not guarantee a concession. Help to Climb is funded on a rolling basis, and places are offered subject to the funding available at the time of application. If we can't offer you a place immediately, we'll add you to the waiting list for the next available round.
